What is Botox, Jeuveau, and Dysport?
The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, sometimes referred to as "Botox" by patients, is a popular injectable that temporarily reduces or eliminates facial fine lines and wrinkles. The most commonly treated areas are frown lines, forehead creases and crow's feet near the eyes.
Botulinum toxin is a purified substance that's derived from bacteria. Injections of botulinum toxin block the nerve signals to the muscle in which it was injected. Without a signal, the muscle is not able to contract. The end result is diminished unwanted facial wrinkles or appearance.
At BOLD N' Bitchin' we carry two types of nuerotoxin, Botox and Jeuveau.
Who are good candidates for botulinum toxin injections?
Smiling, frowning, squinting and even chewing—basically any facial movement—can eventually lead to one of the most common signs of aging – WRINKLES. They can make you appear tired or even angry when you are not. One of the quickest and safest remedies to remove wrinkles is an injection of Botulinum toxin.
More recently, young people are using Botox as a preventative measure to stop the aging process in its tracks. If you’re wondering when to start Botox, you’re in the right place!! Botulinum toxin can be combined with other cosmetic skin procedures—such as chemical peels, laser treatments, dermal fillers or microdermabrasion—to further improve your results. This combination of therapies can even help to prevent the formation of new lines and wrinkles.
Not sure? Schedule a Consultation!
It's natural to feel some anxiety, whether it's excitement for your anticipated new look or a bit of stress. Don't be shy about discussing these feelings with your injector.
Be prepared to discuss:
· Your goals
· Medical conditions, drug allergies and medical treatments
· Current medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco and drugs
· Your general health status and any pre-existing health conditions or risk factors
· Likely outcomes and any risks or potential complications
The procedure & what to expect:
Did you know? There are 43 muscles in your face!
We take that seriously and know that it's vital that the person who performs your injections understands and pinpoints the correct spots to optimize your treatment. Our team of injectors are all certified and have received extensive training to ensure your comfort, safety and maximal results.
A very thin needle is used to inject small amounts of botulinum toxin into specific muscles. By carefully choosing specific muscles, your injector chooses the sites to best restrict muscle contraction in areas that give us lines and wrinkles. The result is a relaxed, smooth and younger facial expression.
Botulinum toxin treatment injections usually take less than 15 minutes.
Lastly – how much am I going to spend?
This ultimately depends on how many areas you wish to have treated, which we can determine during a consult or in the beginning of your appointment. Average cost is $13/unit of botox and a minimum two areas are treated. Each person is different but usually 25-40 Units is needed= $325-$520
Also save money by downloading the Alle app which has numerous coupons to help save on botox! Plus, you’ll get points for all services received at Bold n’ Bitchin which add up to use toward other, future services you choose!!
What is Filler?
Dermal fillers are substances designed to be injected beneath the surface of the skin to add volume and fullness. Multiple types exist – asked your certified injector what we use and why!
At BOLD N' Bitchin' we use Juvederm and RHA filler.
Why consider fillers in comparison to botox?
Different types of dermal fillers are designed to treat varying signs of aging. They use hyaluronic acid and similar compounds to fill in areas that lose subcutaneous fat under the skin as we age.
Depending on the filler selected, they may:
· Plump thin lips
· Enhance shallow contours
· Soften facial creases and wrinkles
· Improve the appearance of recessed scars
· Reconstruct contour deformities in the face
· Decrease or remove the shadow of the lower lids
What are potential risks of fillers?
· skin rash, itching, or pimple-like eruptions
· redness, bruising, bleeding, or swelling
· undesirable appearance, such as asymmetry, lumps, or overcorrection of wrinkles
· skin damage that causes a wound, infection, or scarring
· ability to feel the filler substance under the skin
· blindness or other vision problems
· death of skin cells due to loss of blood flow to the area
How long does filler last?
Filler typically lasts 8-18 months depending on location of filler, how much is used and the type of filler. Your specialist will discuss this with you at your consultation.
Lastly – how much am I going to spend?
Filler costs $700-$900 a syringe. Some areas may require more than I syringe.
Lip filler on average is no more than 1 syringe (remember, it lasts a year!)
At BOLD N Bitchin we offer mini (1/2 syringe) lip plumps at $350- and results last about 6-8 months!
